This next event offered by the European Lightweight Cluster Alliance (ELCA) and the European Business and Technology Centre New Dehli (EBTC) will give you new valuable knowledge and the opportunity to create new business contacts. Inspiring and informative presentations about European lead lightweight opportunities for Indian businesses will be offered, as well as targeted Business-to-Business (B2B) sessions where businesses can collaborate directly.
This second Digital Mission To India-B2B event will be held on 24.03.2022. The goal of this event is to initiate partnerships with Indian businesses and research organisations that could benefit from lightweighting solutions. By joining this event you can gain insights of the growing business opportunities of lightweight technologies in the automotive and aerospace market of India. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to meet ambitious entrepreneurs, cluster managers and business supporters from India and Europe.
From 9-17h (CET, UTC+1) participants will be able to meet up, share ideas and collaborate in B2B sessions. Furthermore, there will be 2 plenary sessions held during the day. The first one, presented by the ELCA office and the ELCA internationalization COSME project, will explain about the benefits of lightweight technology and general business opportunities in this technological field. Also, EBTC will explain in this session about the advantages Indian businesses can gain by integrating lightweighting technologies and the market opportunities for EU stakeholders in both automotive and aerospace. The second plenary session will be held again by EBTC and will elaborate on the current Indian transport status and future possibilities for innovation and international collaboration with their clusters.
This event is built on the promise that lightweight technology will become of great importance in India and Europe. The European Green Deal aims to make Europe climate neutral by 2050. Similarly, India plans to reduce its carbon emission to zero by 2070. Lightweight composite materials provide the highest potential for reducing weight in automotive and aeroplane manufacturing, showing potential to reduce the weight of aircraft and automotive structures by 20-50%. In other sectors, lightweighting allows for efficient use of resources as well as direct performance improvement due to the lessened weight burden of the materials.
ELCA is a collaborative initiative that aims to accelerate the adoption of lightweight materials in strategic industries. In its first years the focus was laid on the aeroplane and automotive industry, but recently ELCA has been exploring a wide range of sectors that could benefit from lightweighting. The ELCA alliance is creating a unique inclusive business framework for exploring lightweight-driven market opportunities. The main partners of ELCA jointly comprise a pan-European network of 2330 entities, including SMEs, Large Enterprises and Research Technology Organisations. These partners collaborate intensively to facilitate funding opportunities, activities and a joint online platform to help their members strengthen their market position and therefore accelerate the adoption of lightweight materials. Lately, ELCA has been aiming to expand its collaborations with partners outside of the EU. For this reason, ELCA has started the collaboration with the the European Business and Technology Centre New Dehli (EBTC) and their local EEN supporters.
